Croc Doc- Day 4, continued

Tonight we had 26 kids & 16 workers. Yahoo!!! Where as in previous nights we were working w/ 4 crews this evening we had 6. And all of our stations were hopping with fun activities and worshipful songs.

Our focus this evening was on Jesus. The fact that he died on the cross and rose again to overcome death. "God Gives Us Life" (Fear Not!). I am thankful that I don't have to fear death. As we've been singing all week- "I will not be afraid . . . I will not be swamped with fear . . ."

Before I wrap up the evening I want to take a few minutes to express some thanks-

  • Sue Farias thanks for a wonderful job with the snacks-tonight's "Berried & Raised" were delicious. Also, thanks for supplying all the yummy munchies. It was so thoughtful of you to provide sandwiches and beverages for all the workers. You are a true God sighting :)
  • Jen Farias thanks for adjusting your schedule so you could help us out this week. It can't be easy getting up as early as you do so you can leave work early enough to help us as a crew leader. Also, thank you for providing transportation for Rylie, Cole, Allison, Aiden, & Cayla. I can't imagine having VBS without them. They are so much fun. And yet another thing I want to thank you for-this year you have devoted so much of your time behind the scenes decorating and recruiting some fine helping hearts. Thank you for all your help and support.
  • Jessica Farias each year you amaze me with your calm approach to registering our children, assigning them to crews, making name tags for each of them, and all this while greeting parents who are dropping off their children. Thank you for all your hard work.
  • Brenda Nedrow is another very early riser who is working full time and yet helping us with a very important station-our Bible Bayou. Thank you for all the planning, preparing, decorating, and teaching of our children. You are doing a wonderful job. And I love what you have prepared for tomorrow :)
  • Jessica Allen another full time worker and active member of Puyallup Foursquare. Thank you for finding it in your heart to help us even though your life is filled with plenty to do. You are a fantastic Bible teacher and I can see why Brenda has so much confidence in you.
  • Cathy Givens you are so good at what you do during Chadder Theater time. How thankful I am that you are on our team.
  • Logan Brailo the Spotlight Drama has been such a fun addition to our finale time. And your pictures are an awesome treat. Way to go girl :)
  • Zane Marsden (another full time worker who rushes to VBS from work) you make the games so much fun and your willingness to help out in other areas like Bible characters. Thanks Bro.
  • Kevin Achey thank you for making time for VBS. Your help with the games, set up, decorating, ect., is so much appreciated.
  • Amy Farley each night you bring a tender spirit to the crafts station. I know you may wonder at times if you're getting through to the children but you are. Thank you for making time for VBS despite your full time job and school.
  • Alicia Steckler you are so good with kids. We are so fortunate to have someone like you on our team. I understand you haven't been feeling well and yet you're here giving us your full support. Thank you (I hope you get better real soon).
  • Bev Tangora I really do appreciate the time you've given to our crafts team. Your support means so much to us. Thank you.
  • Michelle Marsden you are so sweet with the kids. I have no doubt that you are touching little hearts with the love of Christ. Also, thank you for rushing over here right from work. Your sacrifice means a lot to me.
  • Erik Kramer you make each child feel like a million bucks. You are touching them with a servant heart and a positive attitude. Here again, another full time worker-thank you for rushing over here right from work (I understand you haven't been feeling well and I hope that after tonight your health will improve).
  • Abi Deleon thank you for the way you find a need and meet it. You are so resourceful. And I so much appreciate the help you give us even though you too have a full time job. Thanks for making the sacrifice.
  • Matt Larson what can I say-you're simply amazing. You have put in so much time for our VBS event at so many different levels. And you've done everything with a servant heart. Thank you for a fine job with the stage-we have an impressive dock thanks to you. Also, thanks for being a very kind and patient crew leader.
  • David Couch I am so happy Jen introduced us to each other. You are an outstanding young man who has an incredible gift of teaching. Thank you for spending your summer with us. You have been a wonderful blessing to us.
  • Andrea Fantello the murals are out of this world. Thank you for all the hours you put in behind the scenes.

I realize this is a long post- but I felt a need to count my blessings- and I felt a need to name them one by one. With all my heart- I can't say it enough- thank you.

Jesse

Croc Doc- Day 3

"God does what He says He'll do"

This evening our children experienced a very important part of God's character- the fact that He can be trusted.

As parents we have broken our promises to our children. And as much as we hate to admit it-we have. However, God has kept all His promises. And when He says He will protect us He can be trusted. Fear Not!

I am so thankful for all the station leaders and crew leaders who have helped us teach our crew members that God is a promise keeper.

Tonight 20 children went home with a stronger faith in God. And I have no doubt that God wants each of us to understand that as we hold on to our faith Jesus is holding on to us . . .

PTL,

Jesse

Croc Doc- Day 2

God is Powerful! (Fear Not!)

Day 2 what can I say-it was a blast. Tonight we had some no shows and some new shows all for a total of 20 crew members and 17 crew & station leaders. A great turn out with lots of fun and energy flying all over the place.

Here's what I'm talking about . . .

I have no doubt Day 3 will be just as fun.

Blessings,

Jesse

Croc Doc- Day 1

Whew! What a night!

Tonight was by far the best Day 1 I've ever experienced as a VBS director. And it's all because of you. Each of you were simply amazing.

Special thanks to our station leaders. It's not easy taking time from your already busy lives to plan and prepare these important lesson and yet you pulled it off. I am so thankful for every single one of you.

Crew leaders you were amazing! As I observed from a distance I saw that you were both tender and encouraging to each of your crew members. It's no wonder that all of our kid were having such a blast :)

Tonight we had 20 crew members (PTL!) Tomorrow I expect we'll have a few more. Tomorrow our Bible Point is- "God is powerful!" And our Bible story is found in Exodus 7:1-10:29 (God sends plagues on Egypt). I have no doubt that our time together tomorrow evening will be just as meaningful as tonight's.

Between now and then let's join our crew members and "watch for God"-there are God sightings all around us. In the meantime get some rest.

I love you,

Jesse

Today's the Big Day

I'm surprised a bit by the change in temperature but I have no doubt that things will start to heat up around 5:30 pm this evening.

On day 1 I'm expecting around 20 kids- I'll be very surprised if we have more and as the week progresses we'll discover that by word of mouth from the children each day our attendance will increase. Regardless of the numbers let's make sure our hearts are ready to engage each child with the love of Christ.

Fear Not!
